OASIS Capacity Building Workshop for Artists - African American Historical & Cultural Museum

Fresno, CA (4/15/2023) — OASIS Center International is collaborating with the African American Historical & Cultural Museum, a Black cultural arts hub of the San Joaquin Valley, to offer a free Capacity Building Workshop for artists. The workshop will take place on April 15th, 2023, at 10:00 am at 1857 Fulton Street Fresno, CA 93721.

At OASIS Center International, our mission is to support local artists by providing them with opportunities to expand their creative skills and sustain their passion. Our Capacity Building Workshop equips artists with the information they need to achieve financial stability and manage their businesses effectively. “Artmaking is a passion that positively affects our community by expressing its values, cultural identity, and uniqueness,” says Jin Sung, Executive Director of OASIS Center International. “It is crucial to equip artists with the necessary tools to create a sustainable business model for their artmaking.”

The 2023 OASIS Capacity Building Workshop for Artists provides local artists with the opportunity to become financially proficient and build a sustainable business. The workshop is open to artists from the surrounding communities, and refreshments will be provided to all attendees.

The event will be attended by Councilmember Miguel Arias, representatives from Tri-counties Bank and US Bank, and notable professionals in the art industry including professional illustrator Kurt Miller and fashion designer Henry Ellard. The workshop will cover select topics that are important for achieving long-term financial success in the art business such as marketing, credit, budgeting, NFT, and homeownership. These professionals are available to guide artists in mapping out and further developing their creative goals, helping them build a sustainable and profitable business.
